Help us improve the Market!

Hello friends and supporters of the Media Farmers Market,

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.

It is usually around this time of year that the MFM Committee starts planning the new market season. We have already spent a great deal of time talking amongst ourselves, vendors, shoppers and some representatives of the Media Borough Council who are supportive of the market. These conversations have been difficult, but also enlightening and supportive.

We carefully considered all of your feedback and have examined the changes that have occurred over the past two years. Last year saw a drastic down tick in shoppers and we lost some of our vendors. We have assessed the abilities of Committee members to continue the number of hours it takes for all of our volunteers to produce a successful Market for you.

We have come to the conclusion that the Media Farmers Market must take a year hiatus. This year “off” will be spent developing a new model of management, continuing discussions with our community members about their commitment to supporting a thriving the Market in the future. We will discuss the possibility of other locations in the borough as well as assess best practices for moving forward.

This is a decision based on fact finding and decision making. Please know that rumors concerning the future of the market are unfounded. No Borough officials, Media business representatives, or borough residents have done anything negative to effect this decision.

We intend to continue to work with the community and have the Market return stronger and more vital than ever. While there is no definitive timeline, we expect to re-open the market for the 2018 season.

All of us have enjoyed every moment of working with you. Please, if you have any questions, contact us at We want to hear your thoughts about the MFM and moving forward. Also, we would greatly appreciate you taking 5 minutes to answer our very short survey here. Your answers will be beneficial to the future of the Market.

Thank you!
