There will NOT be a Market tomorrow, Sunday, January 20. Safety concerns in the face of this weekend’s forecast were the driving factor in making the decision to cancel this week’s Market. With the forecasted winds and the sudden drop in temperatures making any wet surfaces icy, we chose to keep our customers and vendors safe. We appreciate everybody’s understanding and hope you will join us at our next Market on Sunday, February 3. Stay safe and warm this weekend!

It all started the day he forgot to put a spoon in his lunch bag. Jonathan was working as an apprentice to a furniture maker at the time, and took a scrap piece of wood and made his own spoon. Later on after being laid off from his job, he remembered spoons and began making and selling them. Made from local Pennsylvania cherry wood, Jonathan never uses chemicals, polyurethanes, plastics, or polymers. They creatively sand the spoons, always considering how they will work while cooking or serving. His utensils have a unique sense of balance and warmth because they are designed with the hand and purpose in mind. “Spoons” have also become spatulas, tongs, spaghetti forks, spreaders, and more. Check out Jonathan and his beautiful spoons this week at the Market!

Prior to working in the metal arts, Matt had been a professional cook and brewer. During this time, he ended up dissatisfied with commercially available cookware. So he began creating his own custom, carbon steel implements for both the kitchen and brewery. Check out Matt’s beautiful, handmade pieces that get better the more you use them!
