An important message from the Media Farmers Market

On Thursday March 12th, Governor Wolf sent the following message: “I strongly encourage the statewide suspension of large gatherings, events, conferences of 250 individuals or more and discourage people from traveling to recreational activities….And while people are free to travel, I ask that everyone refrain from non-essential travel. We all need to do our part to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. The time to do this is now. We cannot wait.”

On advice from Borough of Media staff, we are taking the Governor’s directions seriously and canceling the scheduled farmers market this Sunday, March 15

Our market is always meant to be a place where the Media community can interact with each other and purchase nutritious, healthful foods from the region’s producers. But it is apparent that having a farmers market this weekend could be risky behavior for our community’s health. Stay tuned to our newsletter and social media outlets for any further updates.

2 Remaining Winter Markets

The Media Farmers Market is a year-round Market on the 1st and 3rd Sunday, 10 am to noon, through April 2020. Mark your calendars for the these upcoming dates:

  • Sunday, April 5
  • Sunday, April 19

The Market is rain, snow, or shine. In the event of extreme weather stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram pages for emergency or early closing notifications.

Coming Soon: Growing Season!

It’s hard to believe, but our Growing Season is quickly approaching! Beginning May 3, the Market will return to it’s every Sunday schedule. There will be a small change in hours, the Market will be from 10am to 1pm, but our location on Edgmont Street between Barrall Field and Media Elementary will remain the same. All of your favorite vendors will be returning, plus some new vendors will be joining us, bringing you even more amazing, local goods!
